Santorum and Palin in PA

Written by Scott Detrow, StateImpact Pennsylvania Reporter | May 26, 2011 7:23 PM

Usually, Pennsylvania doesn’t get in on the presidential campaign action until the general election. The never-ending 2008 presidential primary was a rare exception.

But in the coming weeks, Pennsylvania will see two big events.

First, potential Republican candidate and/or famous person Sarah Palin will roll through Gettysburg and Philadelphia on a bus tour that begins Sunday in Washington, DC. (Unclear when she’ll arrive at either location.)

Then, on June 6th, former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum will formally announce his presidential campaign. (Yes, he’s been running for months already, but that’s how these things work.) The Post-Gazette’s Dan Malloy reports Santorum will hold his kickoff rally at the Somerset County courthouse.
