The winner of Witf’s Central PA Spelling Bee is heading to the Scripps National Spelling Bee near Washington, DC!  Joanna Ye was the winner of the Central PA Spelling Bee for the second year in a row.  On June 1^st, she will spell down in the 2011 Scripps National Spelling Bee Preliminaries.  The finals will begin at 8:30 pm on June 2nd.  Ye will be competing against 274 spellers from all 50 states.  Ye tied for 5^th place in the 2010 Scripps National Spelling Bee.  She is one of two 2010 championship finalists returning to the national bee.  Ye is excited to compete again this year and is looking forward to seeing friends she made in 2010.  Good luck Joanna!
