Local spellers advance to Grand Championship Spelling Bee

Written by  Colette Cope, witf Interactive Producer

About 150 spellers representing 67 schools from 10 counties in central Pennsylvania took a 100-word written test at the witf Public Media Center on January 29.

Thirty-four of the top spellers are now advancing to the Grand Championship Spelling Bee on February 25. I am thrilled that my daughter is moving on in this competition. I am just wondering how many people are allowed to attend the bee. My ex-husband gets all of the info emails so I don't know if you have informed him of this. Please contact me with any info regarding the bee.

Sincerely,

Ruth Gelfand-Geesey
