Radio Smart Talk for Wednesday, April 13:
witf's Vice President of Multimedia Content and Distribution Mitzi Trostle takes your calls, e-mails, and texts about witf radio and television programming. If there's anything you'd like to know about the programs on our radio or TV station's schedules, or programs you'd like to hear or see, call in with your questions, comments, and suggestions.
LISTEN TO PROGRAM:

Anyway, I often listen to various Public Radio stations on the internet and ran across "Say's You" and loved it. It would be great to see this on WITF Radio.
The only thing I don't like is CLASSICAL AIR during the week. I don't listen to WITF from 10AM to 3PM , The music you play during that time is jarring to my ears. Why can't we have more news, especially BBC news during the daytime ??
Question: I grew up in the DC area and my family listened to the local NPR station there - I remember listening to Beatle Brunch on Sundays when I was young. Does that program still air? I miss it! Thank you!
we have been streaming a program from Seattle. This should not be necessary given the quality we have come to expect from our “hometown station.”
Could the Audio of WITF TV programs be broadcast over WITF FM? Some TV programs are nearly as enjoyable and informative without the pictures.
Wider variety in music programming. My preference is Latin, Jazz, and Show Tunes, but all types of music not heard on commercial radio would be appreciated in addition to your classical music programming.
WITF TV: ‘Dancing With the Stars’ has been very popular, but many people don’t realize anyone can learn to dance. With many excellent Dance Instructors in the area, and many places to dance, a Learn To Dance series may be popular.
between WITF and
APM, NPR, PBS, PRI, CPB, etc.?
Thanks for a great program!
And have you ever thought of having someone like Lynn Warfel as a guest on RST?
I fear that in the station's efforts to be all things to all people your classical music roots may get more marginalized.
Music Through The Night has been a real joy for me.
Josh: I'm not certain what that entails, but I'll pass your idea along. We do offer the program as its own separate, downloadable podcast (see "on-demand" section of this site).
Jocelyn: Thanks so much. I'm pleased you enjoy the program and find it useful. Welcome to the area!
Laura: What an interesting suggestion, thanks! We have interviewed public radio personalities from time to time (among them: Frank Deford, David Sedaris, Paula Poundstone, Bill Littlefield) when they're available and appropriate for a given topic.
Again, more to come from Mitzi.

Thanks for the response. Just an FYI, there is already a spot for Radio Smart Talk on the NPR app. Click on "Stations (on the menu at the bottom)," then find "WITF." It pops up with "Listen Online" for the live stream along with slots for on-demand "Smart Talk" and "WITF Newsroom," but neither of the latter actually has any programs listed.

Also, we have a gem in Perry County which might expand WITF Presents: The Mini-Mountain Laurel Concert Series. You might want to explore recording them for replay!
