Rate caps to end next month for PPL customers -- what should we expect? Radio Smart Talk -- Monday, November 16
December 31 is the last day that PPL electric customers will enjoy the benefits of government mandated limits on how much the utility can charge for generating power...
Rate caps have been in place since 1996 and electric users have been saving a lot of money since then. Rates for PPL customers are expected to rise by 30% next year. However, residential customers can still find ways to not spend that much more for the electricity they use.
It's expected that at least three competitors will come into the market and offer lower rates. Customers are also being encouraged to conserve energy.
