World AIDS Day

Written by  Craig Cohen

However, there still are issues. Radio Smart Talk will focus on several topics:

• HIV testing as a routine medical practice

• HIV and mental health

• HIV and substance abuse

• the stigma of AIDS and HIV

• HIV apathy

• HIV and elderly -- long term survivors who have responded well to combination therapies are beginning to deal with issues that confront the elderly, like assisted living, health care, and Medicare.

• Another emerging population is newly infected elderly who engage in high risk behavior with the availability of drugs to enhance performance.

Learn more about World AIDS Day and AIDS. Visit the Pennsylvania Department of Health website for information on AIDS in Pennsylvania.
