Radio Smart Talk for Wednesday, February 9:
In recent days, Egypt has been rocked by violence, as anti-government demonstrations have been met by pro-government forces. As protests continue in the streets, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has announced he will not seek re-election. But is his response to the Egyptian people’s protests too little, too late?
We’ll learn more about the situation in Egypt, how it developed, and what it means for the Middle East, and U.S. relations in the region, when we talk with Dr. Karl Lorenz, Professor of Sociology and Anthropology at Shippensburg University, who recently spent a year in and around Cairo, and Dr. Mehdi Noorbaksh, Associate Professor of International Affairs at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology.
