Radio Smart Talk for Tuesday, December 20:
At a time when the audiences of most traditional medias have gotten smaller, the number of people listening to NPR affiliated radio stations grew throughout the last decade. More than 20 million, including tens of thousands of witf listeners, tune in to hear the latest national and international news on NPR each week.
Listeners say they like NPR because news is put into context analyzed and not just given the headline treatment. NPR also has 19 foreign news bureaus while other networks are cutting back on their international coverage.
Gary Knell, the new president of NPR will discuss his vision for the network's future on Tuesday's Radio Smart Talk. (Read Gary Knell's bio)
Also, as part of witf's on going Facing Cancer initiative, we'll point out little known facts about cancer.
What questions do you have about cancer?
