Holiday cooking recipes and tips

Written by  Scott LaMar, Director of Radio Smart Talk

Radio Smart Talk for Friday, December 23:

After all the presents are unwrapped Christmas morning, the attention will turn to dinner.  That usually means families gathering for one of the biggest, if not THE largest, sit down meals of the year.  Often, the Christmas dinners provide the most memories of the holiday.

Sharing time with loved ones is a special part of the Christmas dinner but so is the food.  Will it be turkey or ham this year?  Maybe the main course is unique to your family or your family's background.  What about desserts and sweets?  Christmas day can be a great time to experiment with a new recipe.

On Friday's Radio Smart Talk, Chef Donna Marie Desfor joins us with a few Christmas dinner ideas and tips and to answer your questions about holiday cooking.

We would love to see your favorite holiday recipes.  Please share them below.

Craig:
I'm supposed to be off but I had to contribute today. We always have ham for Christmas dinner but we added prime rib about 10 years ago and it's the first thing I reach for. My wife is the cook in the family and she makes everything just right. One of our Christmas traditions is a delicious meal with about a dozen family members. There's a tinge of sadness for those loved ones missing at the table. But it is a time to rejoice and enjoy being with those we love. Tell Chef Donna I miss seeing her. Merry Christmas everyone in the Radio Smart Talk family!
