Dr. Ronald Arkin is at the forefront of this research. In his book Governing Lethal Behavior in Autonomous Robots, Dr. Arkin explores the ethical dilemmas inherent in his own work, developing machines that can use reason and ethics to form decisions. We’ll explore the challenges advancements Arkin and his colleagues are working on will present us with in the years to come, from the technical to the ethical.
We’ll also talk with Dr. Peter Asaro, a self-proclaimed “philosopher of science, technology and media” and founding member and co-director of the International Committee for Robot Arms Control.
