Really, it's nothing new.
Listen to the show:
Edgar Allen Poe may have lived in the 19th Century, but his classic poems and stories are as frightening today as they were when Poe put ink to paper.
As Harrisburg University of Science and Technology Corporate Faculty Member Scott Foulkrod writes, "Among the elements of Gothic fiction are terror, death, the supernatural, wild or exotic settings, dark flawed ("Byronic") heroes, psychological loss of control, secrets, curses and other elements all of which are designed to heighten emotion through fear, especially fear of the unknown." Sounds like a few Hollywood films that opened this weekend.
Guests:
Scott Foulkrod, Corporate Faculty Member, Harrisburg University of Science and Technology. Foulkrod teaches writing, psychology, and philosophy.
