Ethiopia Since Live Aid
The world has come together to combat hunger before – perhaps most famously in 1985, when the global charity rock concert Live Aid raised funds for famine victims in Ethiopia. Peter Gill was among the first journalists on the ground in Ethiopia during the famine. He documented his experiences in the 1985 book A Year in the Death of Africa. Now, Gill has returned to Ethiopia to chronicle what has happened in the years since. His new book is entitled Famine and Foreigners: Ethiopia Since Live Aid. We'll talk with Gill about his book – about life in Ethiopia then and now, and about the U.N.'s efforts to combat hunger around the world.
