End-of-life care

Written by  Scott LaMar, Director of Radio Smart Talk
Newsweek Magazine turned up the temperature on the debate a few degrees with a cover that read, "The Case for Killing Granny." Inflammatory headlines aside, the article pointed out that "almost a third of the money spent by Medicare—about $66.8 billion a year—goes to chronically ill patients in the last two years of life"

What end-of-life decisions do patients and their families have to make, are there ways to keep costs down, what about ethics and what services are available to terminally ill patients?

Thursday's Radio Smart Talk looks at end-of-life care.

Guests:

Dr. Lynne Britton, Medical Director Hospice of Central PA

Cheri Rinehart, President & CEO, PA Assoc for Community Health Care Centers
