Household budgets are taking a beating. Businesses have had to cutback or even layoff workers. The recession has spread the pain across all sectors. On the horizon here in Pennsylvania though are what could be massive rate hikes for electricity. Rate caps are scheduled to be removed for most utilities by the end of the year (some have already come off) and it could mean rate increases of 30-60%. How will we afford it? What steps are being taken to soften the blow?
