America's nuclear weapons secrets
Walp was hired to improve the lab’s security after 9/11. Upon finding and blowing the whistle on the security lapses he found – what he’s called a “culture of theft” – Walp was fired. He was told he was "not a suitable fit" for the job, but he believes he was fired for doing, essentially, just what he was hired to do. He offers his recollections of this saga in his new book Implosion at Los Alamos: How Crime, Corruption, and Cover-Ups Jeopardize America’s Nuclear Weapons Secrets.
