A year before the presidential election: who is left standing?

Written by  Scott LaMar, Director of Radio Smart Talk

Radio Smart Talk for Tuesday, November 8:

Last week, political analysts Dr. Terry Madonna and Dr. Michael Young co-authoried a column on why Herman Cain had surged to the top of the polls in the Republican presidential field.  As always, Madonna and Young provided thoughtful analysis of how a political unknown just a few weeks ago had become the leading contender for the nomination.  That was before Cain was accused of sexually harassing several women during his time at the National Restaurant Association.  So the question for Madonna and Young on today's Radio Smart Talk is whether Cain is still a viable candidate.  A year before voters go to the polls to decide between President Obama and the Republican nominee, how does the race shape up?

Who do you think will win?

Ron Paul 2012 - sound money, non-interventionist foreign policy, military defense not pre-emptive war "offense" - audit the Federal Reserve, military veteran & defender of the Constitution - the taxpayers best friend..why does he get marginalized & ignored. He won 14 straw polls, CPAC & more.

Good show. I always enjoy hearing from Drs. Madonna and Young.

I think folks should avoid facile comparisons between the personal exploits of Herman Cain and Bill Clinton. Yes, Bill Clinton has several affairs with women outside of his marriage, conduct that I don't approve of. But, to my knowledge, no one ever filed a complaint against him alleging sexual harassment. Sexual harassment is, in my view, much more serious than extramarital affairs.

Jim, Bill Clinton was sued for rape in several cases. As a feminist I could not join the 51% of N.O.W. in voting for him. He was also connected with the Bush 1's CIA drug trade in Central America. At the time we had another candidate in Ross Perot. Unlike Ron Paul, he was not a perennial spoiler who switched to a third party to destroy it then went back to his Republican party. Ron Paul has 13 kids and his eduction came from the US government not his own efforts. Like Santorum, he got his from the federal government and you are not supposed to get any help. Bonner is another one whose parents were Democrats and he got his education by obtaining some financial aid by you got to pull yourself up by the bootstraps. Oh, you don't have boots and are barefoot. Tough.
