witf Capitol Bureau Chief Mary Wilson
witf Capitol Bureau Chief Mary Wilson will break down some of the top political stories of 2013 on this week's Smart Talk Friday.
The Corbett administration notched a major legislative victory, last month, with the bipartisan passage of a major transportation funding package.
But getting to that point wasn't easy. In fact, there were two unsuccessful votes in the state House before Governor Corbett was able to sign a phased-in $2.3 billion dollar transportation funding plan just before Thanksgiving.
2013 may have ended on a high note for Corbett, but he still has work to do next year in order to turn around his flagging poll numbers.
A December Quinnipiac Poll found that 56 percent of voters don't believe Corbett deserves to be reelected in 2014.
Mary will explain what went right and what went wrong for Corbett this past year.
Finally, we'll review the legal showdown over same-sex marriage in Pennsylvania. It's all setting up a June 2014 trial over the constitutionality of Pennsylvania's Defense of Marriage Act in federal court in Harrisburg.
What will Pennsylvania's biggest political stories be in 2014? Let us know in the comment section below.
