The headline Thursday read HARRISBURG CITY ISLANDERS HOST FIRST CRAFT BEER FEST.  The idea behind the promotion the city's professional soccer team is holding is obviously to attract fans who also would enjoy craft beers.  The Islanders like many others realize more and more people are drinking craft beers.

Sales of craft beers have increased by 10-15% each year for much of the past decade.  At the same time, large brewers' sales are flat.

On Friday's Radio Smart Talk, we'll take a look at what's behind the rising popularity of craft beers.

Craft Beer or not, alcohol is still the devil and is ruining this great state.

Agreed, BangaDan69! We should allow Wine coolers, and wine coolers only!

    Email from Manuel, Carlisle:

As someone who is allergic to hops, which precludes me from drinking beer, I enjoy some of the great hard ciders out there. With Pennsylvania having to orchard community we have, are there any Craft CIDER makers out there in PA?

      Hi Manuel -

Glare of the lights and unrehearsed questions this morning. I completely forgot about Jack's Hard Cider, made in Biglerville, PA:

    Question for Mr. DeLutis –

How does the PLCB handle licensing for the brewery attached to the winery?

Does the Home Brew store have supplies for home brewing of TRUE root, birch, and ginger beers?

    Email from Roy:

    For Ryan the Brewer…

Other than at the Vineyard, where will I be able to sample or purchase your beers? Will you be growing any of your own ingredients at the vineyard?

Also, thank you for not harming any pigs for your bacon beer.
