Paterno is not clean and like all of us, suffers from human shortcomings.
Thus, none of us are "clean", and none of us should be passing judgement. What we must learn is right and wrong, which we are still struggling with.
If Paterno reported to "higher authorities" that something was wrong, why then was nothing done.????
Paterno should not be the scapegoat..
And how about the parents of the victims ?

The "higher" up a man is, the more he must be held accountable...this even applies to a governor or president. Trouble is, we do not always vote in the most honorable of men. ..
So, someone must be the whistle-blower...In the past, these people have not been treated well.

I saw Smart talk tis afternoon and as a single mother of a male child all I can say is: WHAT WOULD ANYONE HAVE DONE IF THE CHILDREN BEING ABUSED BY SANDUSKY WERE RELATED TO YOU, WERE IN A DIFFERENT SOCIAL CLASS?? WHAT WOULD YOU DO? IF IT WAS YOUR CHILD OR SOMEONE YOU KNEW WHAT PUNISHMENT WOULD YOU BE SEEKING??
Being poor does not mean you can be treated anyway by anyone. These poor children were being RAPED by a grown man and people knew about it.
Would the action doing nothing be different? These kids were AT RISK for whatever reason and the coach took total advantage of their status in life of being a child of poor parents probably a one family household. He is just as much of a predator as a serial killer because he is a serial rapist of children scarring them for life...

You are angry, Staci, but at whom??
Social classes should have nothing to do with this, but probably does anyway...It was not that long ago when murder, much less abuse of certain people was "OK"..
People, particularly the old, tend to live in the past.....
As to "scars", I think I am, and I am sure that my sister was....
We must learn and go forward..
Crucifying people is not the answer..

This is by far the worst thing that has happened at PSU, but this isn't the first disgrace at this university. PSU wants to act so high and mighty but what about the following:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rene_Portland
http://www.post-gazette.com/sports/columnists/20010429cook.asp
Rene Portland got away with discrimination for years. Curly and the heads of the university let this go on for years as well.

Adrian Snare, I am very angry with everyone who knew AND DID NOTHING, the people who KNEW and they DID KNOW or suspected he was a bit too friendly with the kids.... so that is who I am mad at because the organization was supposed to help the children, and not hurt them.
Social class and race has alot to do with it because if his victims looked like the majority someone would have acted sooner.
And yes the crucifying them is in order because you have an adult (grown man) playing get naked and wrestle or touch suck or whatever else was done to the children out in the open with no fear of retribution and nothing happened to him. He probably will not get punished due to the statue of limitations.
so yes I am angry because if I trusted ANY organization with the safety and guidance of my child and this happened ALL THE PENN STATE powers that be would have greatly enrich my childs life...
