The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Mid-Atlantic Chapter has announced that WITF-TV has received five nominations for the Mid-Atlantic Emmy Awards.   The Mid-Atlantic Emmy Awards honor excellence in news, programming and individual achievement in the region.

The five WITF-produced programs nominated for the mid-Atlantic Emmy Awards are: Smart Talk, nominated for the News and Programming award, (third consecutive year) The War Stories: A WITF Collection nominated for the Documentary award, HealthSmart: Alzheimer’s nominated for the Health or Science Program award, (third consecutive year) Kim’s Battle Against Breast Cancer nominated for the Health or Science Segment award and Nell McCormack Abom nominated for the Program Host or Moderator award (second nomination since 2005).
