(Harrisburg) -- The deadline to register to vote in the November election is October 11th. It's the final day for first-time voters to sign up or for voters to change their address or party affiliations. Secretary of the Commonwealth Carol Aichele says the November 8th municipal elections are important to communities across Pennsylvania. "Oftentimes, these elected officials more directly affect the quality of life in a community than sometimes the statewide or national elections," Aichele says. A person must be a US citizen at least 18 years old on or before November 8th, and a resident of the state and the election district where they would vote at least 30 days before polls open. Aichele says voter registration information is usually available at municipal buildings, county courthouses and libraries.
