(Harrisburg) -- PennDOT advises motorists many state roads are closed in South Central Pennsylvania because of flooding.

Due to extreme flooding over the eastern third of Pennsylvania, PennDOT and the PA Turnpike Commission urge motorists to avoid all travel in this section of the commonwealth unless absolutely necessary.

Here is the latest comprehensive list of road closings in PennDOT Engineering District 8, which includes Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry and York counties as of 7:30 p.m. on September 11, 2011:
