U.S. Army Reserve positions posted on new website for job seekers

Written by  Megan Lello, witf Reporter and Producer

(Harrisburg) -- Unemployed Pennsylvanians can now look for work using a new website that features a comprehensive list of both military and civilian positions. The U.S. Army Harrisburg Battalion has teamed up with PA CareerLink and witf’s Top Flight Media to list hundreds of positions with the U.S. Army Reserve on PAJobHelp.com. Staff Sergeant James Slough is the commander of the Army's Harrisburg Opportunity Center. He says job seekers should understand the commitment they're making to the Army Reserve if they're hired. "The Army Reserve guarantees you your training position, so whichever one you choose is the one you get. The Army won't change it for you," he says. "Typically, a commitment to the Army Reserve is going to be six years. It's part-time, and it's one weekend a month and two weeks during the summer." Slough says there are jobs available in a number of different fields, ranging from engineering to truck driving. He adds the training job seekers receive for positions with the Army Reserve should carry over to civilian employment as well.
