The Elysburg-September 11th connection 10 years later

Written by  Craig Layne, Morning Edition Host/Reporter

(Elysburg) -- A Northumberland County community has a unique connection to the three sites of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Elysburg is the same shortest distance, about 137 miles, from Ground Zero, the Pentagon and the Flight 93 crash site in Somerset County. It's the home of a small, but popular, amusement park; otherwise, it's Anytown, USA. The unique geographic tie led witf news to visit Elysburg one year after the 9/11 attacks. Just ahead of the tenth anniversary, witf's Craig Layne makes a return trip to see if -- and how -- things have changed.

witf's news team has compiled extensive, award-winning coverage of the 9/11 terrorist attacks over the years. This year, the news team is bringing you a series of stories on the impact of That Day in September 10 Years Ago.
