(Harrisburg) -- Table games have brought in their largest monthly revenues since being introduced in the commonwealth in July of last year. Last month, the state's ten casinos raked in more than $56 million from table games play. Richard McGarvey, spokesman for the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, says the games have recently become more popular. "Revenue has been climbing over the last 12 months. At the beginning, we were seeing revenue in the $30 million dollar range. Now we're up into the $50 million range," he says. "Casinos are still attracting customers, still learning their base, and still learning what games people like to play." McGarvey says the games also yielded more than $9 million in tax revenue last month and have helped create about 4,700 additional jobs in the past year. He adds the introduction of table games has not negatively affected slots play, which has increased by up to two percent since last year.
