Snowstorm knocks out power for hundreds of thousands of midstate residents

Written by  Megan Lello, witf Reporter and Producer

(Harrisburg) -- Yesterday's snowstorm has knocked out power for thousands of midstate residents. PPL Electric Utilities crews are working to restore power to the nearly 214,000 residents that lost it yesterday. A PPL spokesman says most of the outages occurred in the Lehigh Valley, Lancaster, and Harrisburg regions. More than 100,000 Met-Ed customers were in the dark, while Adams Electric Cooperative is restoring power to more than 7,000 residents. There's no word on how long it will take customers to regain power.
