Red Cross opens shelters across Central PA

The Red Cross is opening shelters across the region for those affected by the flooding. The following is a list of shelter locations:

 

CENTRE COUNTY

Bald Eagle Valley Community United Methodist Church

111 Runville Road Milesburg, PA.

The phone number in the church is 814-353-8870.

 

CUMBERLAND COUNTY

Silver Spring Presbyterian Church

444 Silver Spring Road Mechanicsburg, Pa 17055

Sheltering for pets is located nearby; inquire at the shelter. For more information about the shelter, please call (717) 234-3101

 

DAUPHIN COUNTY

Union Hall

200 Gibson Blvd Steelton, Pa 17113

The shelter is primarily for those residents from Harrisburg, Steelton, Highspire and Middletown which are/will experience flooding from the Susquehanna. Dauphin County Animal Rescue team (CART) will be available to shelter pets. For more information about the shelter, please call (717) 234-3101

 

DAUPHIN/LEBANON COUNTY

Hershey Middle School

500 Homestead Road Hershey, PA 17033

This location will service primarily Hershey, Grantville, Palmyra and Annville.

 

LANCASTER COUNTY

Columbia Consolidated Fire Department

265 S. 10th Street Columbia, PA 17512

This location will service the Columbia, Wrightsville and Marietta area.

 

YORK COUNTY

Manchester Township Municipal Building

3200 Farmtrail Road York, PA 17406

Contact number for the building is: 717-767-1954. York County Animal Rescue and the SCPA will be coordinating sheltering for pets

 

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (Three shelters)

UNION COUNTY

Donald H Eichorn Middle School

2057 Washington Ave Lewisburg, PA 17837 There is a pet shelter run by the County Animal Rescue Team in conjunction with the shelter.

Shelters will provide food, a safe place to sleep and support for local residents who have been experienced flooding or storm damage at their homes. Those coming to a shelter should bring identification and their personal medications and medical supplies with them. It is also recommended that people bring blankets, pillows, extra clothing, personal hygiene items, any infant/child items and important documents.
