(Harrisburg) -- Artists and art consumers from across the commonwealth will have a chance to help shape the future of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. Executive Director Philip Horn says the panel is holding a series of public meetings in cities statewide to discuss a long-term plan for the organization. "We'll collect all of that information, sort through it, do our own internal assessment of where we are, what our capacity is, and work with our council to develop some goals for the agency for the next five or six years," Horn says. A dozen meetings will be held including three in the midstate. The public can weigh in on October 11th at the Reading Public Museum and Millersville University in Lancaster County and October 14th at Jump Street in Harrisburg. "Grants for the Arts" received $8.1 million in this year's state budget -- nearly all of what Governor Corbett proposed. First Lady Susan Corbett chairs the PCA.
