(Harrisburg) -- A day after Congressman Todd Platts' surprising announcement that he will not seek re-election, a state lawmaker is expressing an interest in entering the race. Republican Representative Scott Perry of Cumberland County says he'll make a decision quickly. "I am considering it, I think that it’s important that anybody in my position, and of course I live in the district, would consider it," he says. "But I’ve got to tell you, the first priority for me is my family, I’ve got two little daughters and a wife." Perry made his comments this morning at the 2012 Legislators' Forum for the House of Representatives hosted by the Harrisburg Regional Chamber and CREDC. Platts, a Republican, says he's stepping down after his 12th year serving the 19th District, since he's supported 12 year term-limit proposals in the past. Under a redistricting plan that takes effect next year, the 19th will be renamed the 4th District and include Adams and York counties, eastern Cumberland County and the city of Harrisburg.
