(Selinsgrove) -- A central Pennsylvania university aims to study development and risk behaviors in teens and young people. The Center for Adolescent Research and Education at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Snyder County will work nationwide with youths and their families. Director Stephen Wallace says the research will be used to develop tools to help adults mentor young people on good decision making in high school and college. "Certainly a teen's experience in high school informs the experience that they'll have and the choices that they'll make in college. So we're looking to build a bridge between the high school and college communities as we conduct our research," Wallace says. He adds the center is working on developing a corporate partnership, which could be announced in the spring. He says it also plans to work closely with the handful of similar institutions around the country.
