(Washington, DC) -- As another Veterans Day has come and gone, one vets group is focusing special attention on those who have recently returned from an overseas tour. AMVETS offers several programs to help veterans with their transition back into civilian life in Pennsylvania and other states. Spokesman Jay Agg says vets are having trouble finding work once they leave the service. He notes unemployment among those who served in Iraq and Afghanistan is at 12 percent. "We're seeing the end of the War in Iraq. We're going to have an influx of veterans, men and women, coming back from war who are going to be making that transition, going from military to civilian life, and they're going to need help," he says. "They're going to be looking for work, they're going to try to go back to school, and they're going to go to the VA to get their benefits." Agg says those veterans are returning from a different type of warfare where they had to be on the alert at all times. Traumatic brain injury and post traumatic stress disorder are the signature battle injuries of the most recent conflicts.
