(Harrisburg) -- Governor Corbett is calling on residents to brace for serious flooding along the Susquehanna River through the weekend. For those who saw the Susquehanna River turn a muddy brown after the rains from Hurricane Irene, Corbett says it’s about to get murkier, still. "There’s more rainfall coming and what I want to stress to everybody in south central Pennsylvania is all the rain that’s falling in north central and New York along the Susquehanna River basin is all going to come down here," Corbett says. The National Weather Service is forecasting high river crests in the Harrisburg and Wilkes-Barre region. The Susquehanna River in Harrisburg was at almost 14 feet Wednesday. It’s expected to crest at 26 feet early on Friday or Saturday. That’s not as high as the river’s 32-foot crest in 1972 during Hurricane Agnes. Corbett says the emergency proclamation he called during Hurricane Irene is still in effect.
