(Harrisburg) -- Governor Corbett is hoping to attract a new natural gas processing plant to the Commonwealth. Corbett is among state leaders trying to woo Shell Oil Company into building the facility in the Keystone State, as opposed to locations in Ohio and West Virginia. He says the so-called "ethane cracker" would be ideally situated in western PA. "We have the rivers, we have railroads, we the highways, we have the airport of Pittsburgh, and there's not to be forgotten the cultural and educational side of Pittsburgh. I think we have the business climate and our people are starting to understand what kind of an industry this is," Corbett says. The Governor says the plant would bring thousands of constructions jobs and hundreds of permanent jobs to the state. The state's two U.S. senators, Pat Toomey and Bob Casey, have also lobbied Shell to pick a location in the Commonwealth. The company's decision will likely come in the first half of this year.
