(Philadelphia) -- Governor Corbett says a $3 million state grant for the Second Mile nonprofit founded by former Penn State Defensive Coordinator Jerry Sandusky is now on hold. Questions have been raised as to why the Corbett administration approved the money. The funds for the Second Mile were already given the okay under then-Governor Ed Rendell, even though as the former state Attorney General, Corbett was aware of the probe into Sandusky's alleged sexual abuse of young boys. "Yes, I knew this, but I could not act publicly on this without saying certain things that would have possibly comprised the investigation," he says. "So eventually, we did approve it." Now, the money is being withheld in the wake of the scandal. All eight of Sandusky's alleged victims at this point were tied to the Second Mile program and the charity's president, Doctor Jack Raykovitz, resigned earlier this week. Corbett addressed the issue while he was visiting a charter school in Philadelphia to rally support for his education reform plan.
