(Undated) -- Five midstate schools are on the Princeton Review’s list of the country's best colleges and universities. Dickinson, Gettysburg, Franklin and Marshall, Bucknell and Susquehanna all made the roll call for 2012’s "Best 376 Colleges." Rob Franek, the list's author, says students at schools around the country were asked to rank their campuses in 62 categories. "The way we've chosen to do it in this book is to listen to whom we would consider college experts, current college students. Ask them questions of their experiences academically, through diversity issues, about financial aid, and all of those questions have a corresponding ranking list," Franek says. Twenty-eight schools in Pennsylvania made top 20 lists. Some superlatives: Muhlenberg has the best college theater, Bryn Mawr the top dorms and Swarthmore is number one for financial aid. Penn State is tops for participation in intramural sports, but it's also number one for financial aid that's "not so great." The University of Scranton has the least politically active students.
