Facing Cancer Together: Debate over breast cancer screening and lifesaving

(Ephrata) -- A new study suggests the power of mammograms may be overestimated. The doctors behind the report say a flood of "pink" awareness programs and survivor testamonials have given the test more value than it should have. As part of witf's Facing Cancer Together multimedia project, witf Morning Edition Host Craig Layne talked with Pat Halpin-Murphy, the president and founder of the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition, to talk about this study - and the idea that awareness campaigns might have gone too far.
