(Harrisburg) -- The Governor’s Office expects to roll out a school reform legislation package within the next two weeks. Governor Corbett says he’ll announce "something very clear" on what proposals he’ll support to provide more school choice, reform public charter schools and offer school vouchers. Corbett has said repeatedly the school reform measures are his top legislative priority. He gave an explanation for the measured approach he’s taken towards rolling out his legislative plans. "People expect us to move much faster, then I move very deliberately. You in the media, after six years as Attorney General, one year, you know nine months now as governor, you understand I do this in a deliberate fashion," he says. "That’s exactly what we’re doing. We’re taking, looking at it as thoroughly as we possibly can." Negotiations over school choice legislation fizzled out among state House Republicans in June. Last week, a top Senate Republican called on the governor to take the lead this fall.
