Community Colleges get federal funding for job training

Written by  Craig Layne, Morning Edition Host/Reporter

(Washington) -- Two midstate community colleges will be getting a share of $20 million in federal funding for job training programs. HACC and Reading Area Community College are part of the Community College of Philadelphia consortium that is receiving the grant money. The funding is part of a program that partners community colleges with employers to train workers who have lost their jobs. The training is designed to meet industry needs using high-tech teaching techniques. HACC and RACC are among 13 community colleges in the Commonwealth that are part of the program.
