Due to the snowstorm event on Saturday and the damage to trees, the City of Lebanon will be holding a one week branch collection beginning today. Leaf collection will cease for this week. The storm branch collection will be this week only and will end on Friday, November 4. Branches must be placed along the curb and cannot be longer than 8 feet. Residents who have engaged with an independent contractor to remove fallen trees must have the contractor remove all debris. Contractors may not pile branches in the street for pickup by the city crew.
In an effort to assist property owners with the clean up from the storm, the city will open the Green Waste Center, 893 North Eighth Street, Lebanon, for use by city residents at no fee. The Green Waste Center will be open for city residents at no charge on Wednesday, November 2, from 11:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.; Friday, November 4, from 11:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m.; and on Saturday, November 5, from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon. An attendant will be on duty to allow entrance to the center. Residents will be required to show proof of residency (i.e., driver’s license or voter registration card) before entering the area.
Leaf collection will resume on Monday, November 7. When placing leaves out for collection, please do not mix branches or twigs into the leaf piles. The branches clog and damage the equipment causing all leaf collection to be delayed within the city.
Additionally, street sweeping has been temporarily suspended for October 31 and November 1. Street sweeping will resume on Wednesday, November 2, 2011.
