(Glen Rock) -- Several midstate business groups have met to discuss ways to build up economic development along Interstate 83. About 120 business leaders gathered in Glen Rock, York County last night to talk about plans for improving the I-83 corridor between York and Baltimore. Richard Robinson is the development director for Penn-Mar Human Services, the organization that hosted the event. He says businesses sometimes overlook the land along the corridor. "Our feeling in the past has been that, in most cases, folks in Baltimore would look more toward Washington," he says. "Folks in York might look more toward Harrisburg, and actually, there's fertile ground in between, between York and Baltimore." The York County and Baltimore Chambers of Commerce as well as the transportation authority rabbittransit were among the businesses represented on hand at the event. Robinson says he expects the groups to keep each other informed about new ideas for projects and possible partnerships.
