(Harrisburg) -- A Perry County couple is being treated at Harrisburg Hospital after being attacked by a black bear at their home early this morning. The pair was letting their dog back in their Oliver Township home around 4 this morning when a bear entered their home and chased them around. The animal scratched and bit the man and then attacked the woman. Pennsylvania Game Commission Spokesman Jerry Feaser says bears and dogs typically don't get along. "It often is one of the root causes of any incidents we hear about bears and humans and negative conflicts, so in this situation, clearly the dog being involved is why the bear followed this dog into the house," he says. Otherwise, it's very unusual for a bear to enter a home." State police began looking for the bear after the incident, but have not been able to locate the animal. Feaser says when the bear is found, it may have to be put down.
