(Bellefonte) -- Jerry Sandusky might have his day in court, after waiving his preliminary hearing. He stands accused of sexually abusing 10 young boys over a 15-year period. January 11th is the next big day in the saga of the abuse allegations that’s rocked Penn State. It’s when the former Nittany Lions defensive coordinator is slated to be arraigned. Defense attorney Joe Amendola says his team is still ready to defend their client. "Today’s waiver has nothing to do with conceding anything. There have been no plea negotiations, there will be no plea negotiations," he says. "This is a fight to the death, this is the fight of Jerry Sandusky’s life." Some questioned why the preliminary hearing would be called off at the last-minute without some kind of plea deal being struck. That thought was flatly denied by the state Attorney General’s Office. So, January 11th is the next big date in one of the highest profile cases in decades in Pennsylvania. Sandusky won’t attend his arraignment, but he has entered a not-guilty plea.
