Agriculture secretary says inspections are needed for restaurants affected by flooding

Written by  Megan Lello, witf Reporter and Producer

(Harrisburg) -- Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture Secretary George Greig has reminded owners of state-inspected restaurant and food facilities hit by the recent flood waters that they must be inspected by the department’s Bureau of Food Safety before they reopen.

Greig says the department's food sanitarians are working with establishments so they may resume business as quickly as possible.

Additional food sanitarians are being activated to the hardest-hit areas in the commonwealth. Establishments will only be inspected after flood waters have receded and the facilities have been thoroughly cleaned.
