A belated Happy New Year from WITF's Real Life | Real Issues team. Throughout first month of 2011, we'll bring you stories about mentoring programs across the region. I spent some time on the handball courts with some Harrisburg teenagers who participate in the Hope In Handball program. It aims to keep kids involved an afterschool activity, while guiding them away from making poor decisions. Work is underway on the story and you'll be able to hear it on WITF 89.5 and 93.3 in Chambersburg in the coming weeks. There will be plenty of photos and videos of the players too. Central PA magazine profiles a chef who serves as a mentor to his students.
