Located throughout our region, these Saturday morning events link families, PBS characters, and learning together. With support from community agencies and sponsors, these family play dates allow children, aged 3-8, to engage with their families around meaningful, interesting content in fun, age-appropriate ways. They also get to play with their favorite PBS characters such as Curious George and Cat in the Hat. Over the next 18 months, witf will orchestrate 12 Ready Set, Explore events in our region. Themes for the RSE events can be tailored to meet the needs of community partners and include the arts, connections to nature, science topics like weather, animals, and space, literacy and health.
All Curious Kids are welcome at witf’s Ready Set Explore, sponsored by Commonwealth Connections Academy!

Start with engaging, creative learning activities and children ages 3-8 and their families. Add favorite PBS characters such as Curious George and Cat in the Hat. That equals a fun Saturday morning at a “Ready Set Explore!” event. All over the region, witf hosts these free, fun playdates for children and their families. Partnering with community groups and area businesses, witf provides opportunities for families to explore science, math, the arts and literacy through activities, experiments and crafts. Families also receive materials to continue these fun experiences at home. This year’s first Ready Set Explore is on March 22 from 9 to 11a.m. at Byrnes Health Education Center in York. Look for additional “Ready Set Explore” events this spring in Shippensburg and Lancaster.
