Located throughout our region, these Saturday morning events link families, PBS characters, and learning together. With support from community agencies and sponsors, these family play dates allow children, aged 3-8, to engage with their families around meaningful, interesting content in fun, age-appropriate ways. They also get to play with their favorite PBS characters such as Curious George and Cat in the Hat. Over the next 18 months, witf will orchestrate 12 Ready Set, Explore events in our region. Themes for the RSE events can be tailored to meet the needs of community partners and include the arts, connections to nature, science topics like weather, animals, and space, literacy and health.
Learn about how your heart works and how to keep it healthy!
Science is about trying to make sense of the world. The idea of explaining science to young children can feel overwhelming to many adults. But luckily, explanations about science aren't what young children want at first. They want to play! Curiosity drives children’s interest in science and we can all appreciate curiosity. So where do we start?
witf and the Byrnes Health Education Center invite you and your 3-7 year old to join us for Ready, Set…Explore, a Saturday morning science play date where you and your child can spend time together and play with science. Come learn how your heart works and how to keep it healthy. Curious George will be at the event to explore along with you. This event will be held at the beautiful Susan P. Byrnes Health Education Center, Saturday, February 2 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM. This event is free for families thanks to all of our wonderful community partners.
