Written by Tim Lambert, WITF Multimedia News Director | Jan 14, 2019 10:12 AM

Part I:

More than six months ago, Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico -- devastating the island and sending thousands stateside in search of a better life.

While people who stayed are still without power in some areas and hundreds of homes remain damaged, those who left are facing their own challenges.

As part of our series of stories -- STARTING OVER: Life in the Midstate After Hurricane Maria, WITF's Rachel McDevitt visits with one family in Harrisburg.

Part II:

After Hurricane Maria ravaged Puerto Rico, thousands of people decided to leave their homes in search of relief in states like Pennsylvania - people like Luis Garcia.

When the hurricane hit, he was just settling into retirement - after serving as a pastor for decades.

As part of our series of stories -- STARTING OVER: Life in the Midstate After Hurricane Maria, WITF's Rachel McDevitt looks at why Garcia feels like God is calling him down a new path.

Part III:

Puerto Ricans have been moving into and out of the midstate for years, mostly for economic reasons.

After Hurricane Maria brought a wave of destruction to the island, many people moved here because they had family already in the area.

As part of our series of stories -- STARTING OVER: Life in the Midstate After Hurricane Maria, WITF's Rachel McDevitt reports on the reunion of one family in Lebanon.
