Feature entry: Wild West Auction

(Harrisburg) -- Leaders in Pennsylvania's capital city are hoping the heroes of the Wild West will ride to the rescue of the cash-strapped community.

Thanks to former mayor Stephen Reed’s eccentric, failed project, the city has an extensive collection of Wild West artifacts -- some with ties to people like Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday.

The roughly 8,000 pieces are up for auction this week in the hopes they will put a dent in Harrisburg’s municipal debt.
