Get ready for Halloween with spooky science specials

Written by  witf.org

Bats, cats, spiders and skeletons abound as Sid the Science Kid and his friends dress up in the spookiest and scariest costumes possible for Halloween! When teacher Susie comes to school disguised as a silly mad scientist, she helps the kids discover that Halloween can be spooky and scientific! The kids investigate how bats catch pesky mosquitoes, spiders are expert web engineers, cats are leaping aerial acrobats and skeletons help hold up our bodies.

Then on Dinosaur Train, Dad takes the kids on the Night Train to Troodon Town where the Roundhouse has been turned into a "haunted house" for a spooky party. The kids end up meeting a strange new nocturnal creature named Vlad Volaticotherium and visit the Big Pond to celebrate "Gourd Day" where they see their first pumpkins!

Sid the Science Kid "Spooky Science Special" first airs on October 17 and repeats on October 25, 28, 30 and 31.

Dinosaur Train "Haunted Roadhouse/Big Pond Pumpkin Patch" first airs on October 20. It will repeat on October 24, 28, 30 and 31.

Check out these ideas on how to explore and discover new ways of having fun this Halloween with Sid the Science Kid!
