April Fundraising
April 8-15
This month witf 89.5 and 93.3 will be conducting our annual spring fundraising campaign. We are especially eager for new contributors to join our family of more than 25,000 public media donors. The financial support of each new contributor will help witf to overcome the losses of state grants, so that we may continue to grow in service for everyone in our region.
And because it is spring, a time of new growth, we have a very special thank-you gift to offer contributors. With our partners from the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, we are honored and proud to announce that our newest witf Woodland will be planted in Somerset County, the site of the Flight 93 tragedy.
For a gift of $75, witf will plant a tree in honor or memory of someone special, and DCNR will match that tree with a second seedling. Specially designated witf Woodlands have been planted in several park areas, including Lancaster, Harrisburg, Carlisle and soon in York. With each tree contribution, we’ll see that donors receive a certificate, suitable for framing, with the designated honoree’s name.
The first phase of the memorial to the passengers and crew of Flight 93 will open this September 11th, the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks, as part of the National Park system.
Please make it a point to make an annual contribution — it is more vital for witf than at any other time in our history.
